The Twilight Saga books and movies have taken the world by storm. They have become widely popular with people of all ages, from pre-teens to full fledged adults. The two main characters, Edward and Bella, have become an icon couple, millions of girls dream of finding an "Edward" in their lives and many boys out there wish they were like him.
The actors that have been lucky enough to play the iconic couple, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, have surged as two of the most popular people in the young Hollywood scene because of it. Pattinson and Stewart are constantly on top of celebrity and entertainment news, with speculations flying high as to them being a real life couple.
The rumors are so rampant that the couple is often referred to as Robsten, a moniker for Robert and Kristen, just like Brad Pittt and Angelina Jolie's Brangelina. The couple is often seen out together when they travel for awards or premieres, but they have been denying that they are an item for months.
Are they really dating, or are they just good friends like they claim? Arguments exist on both sides, with enough evidence to prove either one to be possible.
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Are Together in Real Life
The rumors that Pattinson and Stewart were dating really started after they finished filming the Twilight sequel New Moon. Numerous accounts abounded about Rob and Kristen attending concerts and events together appearing very cozy with each other.
And more recently, an E! online report said that the couple had been spotted together at the Macbeth pub in London appearing "100 percent together" according to an eyewitness at the club. Another fan at Macbeth also said she saw them there together.
Then another sighting was reported by a British politician, who twittered on his account that Robert and Kristen were at the Marquis of Granby pub alone together and even shared some kisses on the lips. "From what I saw just a couple of kisses on lips. They didn't seem that amorous generally but friendly all the same." Councillor Nicolas Clarke said.
The Twilight couple was also reported to be seen leaving the BAFTA awards together in a car. Then, at the after party dinner, the British tabloid The Sun reported that Robert actually admitted he was dating Kristen. "We can't arrive at the same time because of the fans. It goes crazy. This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple but it's impossible. We are here together and it's a public event but it's not easy. We have to do all this stuff to avoid attention." Robert Pattinson was quoted as saying by The Sun.

Even after months of speculation and media reports, Pattinson and Stewart continue to deny claims that they are together. When interviewed at red carpet events they either refuse to answer when asked if they are together, or they make jokes about it.
During talk show events, Pattinson and Stewart always tell the host what great friends they are and how they understand each other so well, but that's where it ends. At one recent interview with TV Guide at the Sundance Film Festival Stewart was asked if she was "Team Edward" off the screen and she just walked off the screen.
Pattinson and Stewart usually arrive separately when attending movie premieres or red carpet events. Although it is not sure whether this is due to them not being together as a couple, or to not give themselves away.
The Jury is Still Out On Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Being a Couple
Given all the evidence out there, it is still not yet confirmed if the famous Twilight couple of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are actually dating. However, it is almost unavoidable that the truth will come out at some point.
There is another story on UK's The Daily Mail making the rounds that claims Katherine Hadrwicke, director of the first Twilight movie, noticed the chemistry between the couple during filming of the movie. She said she warned Pattinson to not start a romance with Stewart because she was only 17 at the time and he was over 18.
That could be why the Twilight couple denied being together for all this time and just stuck with that story. The new rumors and sightings of Pattinson and Stewart together as a couple are mounting lately and it wouldn't be a surprise if they finally did make their couple status official.
